

She was born on August 9, 1936 in Lincoln, England to the late Samuel Fowles and Ivy May Parker Fowles.
Marlene was a very caring and helping woman that enjoyed gardening, cooking, conducting charity work, supporting the Armed Forces and loving and educating her family. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis Canaday; daughter, Sharon; and brothers, Wray and Pauline.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son; Darryl (Tip); daughters, Lorraine (George), Gail (Billy), Roxanne (Mark); sister, Valerie (Dave); grandchildren, Stuart (Joyce), Michael (Jody), Steven (Sarah), Charlotte (Oda), Jason (Emily), Matthew, BJ (Bryanna), Toni and Terry; great grandchildren, George, Chloe, Jessica, Mikayla, Maddison, Paige, Mackenzie, Kenneth, Briley, Aurora, and Alyvia; niece, Sarah; and nephew, Jonathan; Raynae and her children Landen and Cameren, all of whom she loved as her own.
Memorial Service will be at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 5 pm.
Friends may gather with the family from 4 - 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family would request donations be made to an Armed Forces charity of your choice.
