Ms Martha Opal McKinney

2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Martha was born to Harrison and Charlottie (Meadows) McKinney of Lester.

She was a very compassionate person and loved everyone. She liked raising flowers, quilting, sewing, canning, and helping her family over the years, but she loved going to Church with her brother and sisters in Christ, singing and worshipping the Lord, and doing anything for anyone she could to build up the Church. She loved reading her Bible and read it through many times until she wasn’t able, then it was read to her. She was preceeded in death by her parents and four brothers; Wiley, Emmitt, Hayden, Aden, and one sister Ina Reynolds.

She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her family Gladys Acord (Arnold) of Lester, Alfred McKinney (Louise) Lindside WV and Loretta Muovich (Michael) of Harper.

Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren are Bret Acord (Lesha), Seth, Zane, Zeke, Sherri Poling (Gary) Breann, Kyle, Kase, Sharon Acord, Angela Wood (Randy) Presleigh, Marla McKinney fiancé Michael Reed, Ronnie, Chris, Tiffany Lynch (Scott). (Great Great Grandchildren are Natalee, Avalon, Stella, Carter, Brody), Allen McKinney (Vickie) Thomas of King N.C., Anthony McKinney, Brenna, Alex, Sherri, Epperly Hill, Michael Wayne Muovich (Stacey), Michael Glenn, Kaitlyn, and Fiance Josh Caron, Melissa Chapman (Tim) Timothy and Micah of Beckley, Alyssa Maynard (Wallace) Madison and Mackenzie of Bolt. Two Brothers; Ralph and Roye McKinney, and many nephews, nieces, and friends. A very special thanks to Dr Gary Poling and Staff and to Hospice.

Pallbearers will be her great grandson’s.

Service will be at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 1pm. Friends may call two hours prior to service. Reverend Brian McAlister will officiate.
