Marvin Lee Pennington

We have lost a great man from this world, but Heaven has gained a wonderful angel. Marvin Pennington, age 80 from Daniels, WV passed away on Thursday, November 2nd at the WVU Medical Center after fighting a very courageous battle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Leonard Pennington and Ruby Lee Keaton Pennington; and his half-brother, Earl Pennington. Those left to cherish his memories is his wife of 62 years, Katy; his son, Greg Pennington and his wife, Terry and their son, Logan, all of Beckley; his daughter, Janie and her companion, Don of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Janie’s two sons, Andrew and his wife Nichole , and their children Peyton and Parker; and Adam and his daughter, Andi Shea. Mr. Pennington is also survived by his brother, Mac Ray Pennington and his wife, Barbara; and a large extended family, dear friends and a loving church family. Marvin was retired from Nationwide Insurance and loved the time that he spent as a basketball official for over 40 years. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army for 18 years. Most importantly, he was the most generous and loving family man. His wife, children and grandchildren were always his priority. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Victory Baptist Church on Scott Ridge Rd. in Beaver, WV. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Garden of the Last Supper in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
