Mary Grace Acord, 84, of Beaver passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Bower Hospice House, in Beckley. Mary Grace was born May 20, 1937 in Blue Jay, West Virginia and was the daughter of Eliza and Elmer Redden, who proceeded her in death. She was also proceeded in death by her husband Ret SGT Lacy Acord, junior; son Randy James Acord; grandson, Sgt Randy Lee Acord; sisters, Glema Acord and Delma Miller; brothers Oral and Marvin Redden. Survivors left to cherish her memory include her sons and daughter-in-laws, Samuel and Susan Acord (Beckley), Patrick and Tina Acord (Blue Jay). She is also survived by daughter in law, Sarah Acord (Beckley) as well as her grandchildren, MSGT Timothy Acord and Beth (Huntingdon, UK); Amanda Acord (Cool Ridge); Kristan Acord (Mabscott); Kevin and Katie Acord (Blue Jay). She also leaves behind three great grandchildren, A1-C Tyler Acord (Oklahoma), Trevor and Emma Acord (Huntingdon UK). She will also be missed by a host of special cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary Grace was a devout Christian and longtime member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Nothing pleased her more than being involved in church and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lovingly called “Granny” by most members of her family, she had a sweet tooth and was known to always pick the biggest piece of cake with the most icing during every celebration. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1:30pm with Pastor Larry Cochran officiating.
