Mary Jewell Bolen

Mary Jewell Pritchard Bolen 74 of Coal City went home to meet our Lord and Savior, February 12th at her home peacefully. She was the daughter of the late William “Bill” Harvey Pritchard and Juanita Blanche Cales Pritchard. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 53 years, Rayburn Don Bolen, Sr. and three sisters, Lana, Patty, and Juanita and brothers, Larry, Bobby, Eddie, Gary, Don, Billy, Johnny and Charlie. Those left to cherish her memory include, 3 sisters, Wanda Thomas, Ruth Harville and Pearl Byrd. Also 6 loving children that she loved dearly, Juanita Annette Taylor of Sophia, Rayburn Don Bolen, Jr. and wife, Donna of Crab Orchard, Terri Lynn Lilly and husband, Randy of Sophia, Jennifer Jo Nichols and husband, Matt of Crab Orchard, twins Bridget Renee Robinson of Beckley and Brian Keith Bolen and wife, Tammy of Florida. She had 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with which she had a special bond with each one. She loved to cook for her family and tell stories of how she grew up in the little Coal Camp of Winding Gulf. She had a heart of gold and a kind word for all whom she met. She loved and served God with all her heart. Jewell will be greatly missed by all. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Williams Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia with Rev. Gary Eskins officiating. Burial will follow at Thompson’s Cemetery in Coal City. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers Friends may gather with the family Thursday from 12 – 1 at the funeral home.
