Melissa Ann Martin

Melissa Ann Martin, 49 of MacArthur, was greeted at Heaven’s gate by God and our Blessed Mother on the morning of October 15, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Missy was born July 6, 1967 in Beckley. She is the daughter of Frank and the late Phillis Stump Prunest. Missy’s whole world was her family. Her devoted husband David, who never left her side for one moment. She was the other half of his heart. Her life revolved around their grandson Shane and their son Travis and his wife Phylecia. Missy enjoyed camping, fishing, and family dinners and gatherings. Those that have gone on before her are our beautiful mother Phillis Prunest, maternal grandparents Swanson and Carrie Stump, and paternal grandparents, Frank and Mildred Prunest. Those left to love her and cherish her beautiful memory are her loving husband David, of 29 years, their son Travis and his wife Phylecia, and grandson Shane Allen Martin. Her father Frank S. Prunest of MacArthur, her sister Debbie McKinney and husband Patrick of Beckley and her brother Frank S. Prunest Jr. and wife Kristi of MacArthur. Her beloved nieces and nephews, Janzen and Carson McKinney and Alexis and Blake Prunest. Missy was employed with Town Hall of Sophia as an administration assistant. She was a lifelong resident of MacArthur and was of the Christian Faith. Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 6-9pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 1pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas Holley officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
