Michael Clay Isom II, age 44, of Mac Arthur, WV passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Ohio State University Hospital. Michael was born in Beckley, WV on April 13, 1974 to Michael and Polly Sue Isom. Michael was a member of the Christian Fellowship Worship Center in Pineville, WV. Michael enjoyed fishing, WVU sports, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Jean Isom and William and Pauline Hightower. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Nancy Isom; children, Samual Matz and Kelly Renee Byrd and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Gracelynn and Isaiah; parents, Michael and Polly Sue Isom; brother, Robert Wayne Isom and his wife Lori; niece, Abby Isom; nephews, Hunter Isom and Logan Isom. A Memorial service will be held at Hollywood Missionary Baptist Church 155 Luray Street, MacArthur. Online condolences can be left for the family at

Very sad news. Mike was so young and one of the nicest guys I've known in my lifetime. I wish we hadn't lost touch through the years. I will certainly pray for peace and healing for his family and friends and for his children to never forget what a great guy he was.
