

Michael Keith Markham, 81, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015. Born in Pax, WV, Mike was the son of the late Wilma Painter and William Markham. Mike was a retired US Army Veteran, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Third Class and bravely serving his country for 22 years. During his lifetime of service, Mike served tours in South Vietnam, South Korea, East Germany, and Italy. Mike was also a retired Lieutenant with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department and a proud member of both the Fraternal Order of Police and the American Legion. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his siblings, Billy Markham, Julie Markham, Eugene Markham, Edna Ikomoto, and Stephen (Jack) Markham. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Jerry Markham; stepdaughter, Jeri Michelle Radford (Allen); granddaughters, Jenni Canterbury (Joe) and Brandi Radford; great-granddaughter, Alice Jane Canterbury; son, Michael R. Markham (Sue); granddaughter, Laura Markham; grandson, Tyler Markham; brother, Roger Markham (Nancy); sisters, Mary Dunbar, Barbara Krueger, and Patricia Bell; and a host of very special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. Services to honor the life and memory of Michael Keith Markham will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Clifton Adkins officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 11:00am – 12:00pm prior to the service on Thursday. Entombment in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens will immediately follow the services with Mike’s nephews serving as his pallbearers.
