Myrthia Ferne Reck

Myrthia “Ferne” Reck, 78, of MacArthur passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019. She was born on August 3, 1941 in Sophia, WV and was the daughter of the late Oscar Graham and M. Frances (Poe) Doss.

Ferne is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Antonio A. Reck; and her son, Angelo Graham Reck. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Antonio “Mark” and his wife, Robin Reck of Crab Orchard; and her grandson, Matthew Reck of Morgantown.

Ferne graduated from Sophia High School and was of the Baptist Faith. She was a loving caregiver to her family and was blessed to be a stay at home mother, homemaker, and grandmother. Spending time with her family was very important to Ferne and she took great pleasure in watching her son and grandson bowl. She will be missed by her family and all that knew her.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 12 pm – 1 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1 pm with Father Paul Wharton officiating at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.

Ferne will be laid to rest with her late husband and son at Sunset Memorial Park following services.
