Myrtle Marie Basham

After a brief time working various jobs, Myrtle spent her life as a shining example of love and giving. She was a homemaker and caregiver. She loved her family dearly and protected them fiercely, she cared for her aging parents, her cousins, her husbands, and her children in their time of need, she loved to sew, bake, and decorate anytime she was able. Myrtle loved to bake birthday cakes for her children and grandchildren and is famous for her delicious fudge. She also made countless outfits for her children in their younger years. Myrtle loved flowers of all kinds. She was a member of Soak Creek Gospel Tabernacle and was the treasurer for 30 years. Myrtle will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and church family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Harold G. Haga, her second husband, Ivan L. Basham, her son, Donald Ray Haga, her daughter Diana G. Bolen, son-in-love James D. Delp, her two grandsons Ryan G. Haga and Richard W. Haga, sisters Betty Lee of Minot ND and Ruby Rupe of MacArthur WV, and brothers Eugene Mills, Clyde Mills and Buster Mills all of Sophia, and French Mills of Ghent WV.

She is survived by her son Glenn (Mitzi) Haga, her daughters Cindy Delp and Susan (Dale) Basham-Richmond, son-in-love David Bolen, 4 grandsons David (Ashlee) Delp, Brent (Cassandra) Haga, Scott Haga and Jason (Sherly) Haga, 2 granddaughters Jennifer (Matt) Mills and Kathy Bishop, 14 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, brothers Oley Mills, Roger Mills, and Roscoe Mills, and sister Thelma Mullens.

A visitation will be held for Myrtle on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 6PM-8PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. A funeral service will be on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 12PM. She will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the service. Friends and family will be serving as pallbearers.
