Nadine Marie Manley

Nadine Marie Manley, age 81, of Detroit, Michigan, departed this life on January 18, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1943, in Pemberton, West Virginia, to the late Russel Christian and Thelma Christian.

Nadine is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Manley; her parents, Russell and Thelma Christian; sisters, Naomi Elaine Baker, Shirley Wooten, and Lisa Christian; son Edward Christian; and

granddaughter Korissa Brown.

Nadine was from a very religious family and grew up in Beckley, West Virginia. She attended Stratton High School in Beckley, West Virginia.

After a short period in New York City, she met and married Eugene Manley from Alabama, subsequently relocating to Detroit, Michigan.

Throughout most of her life, she worked as a presser, later became a stay-at-home mother, and eventually took on the role of caregiver for her parents. She will be remembered for her great cooking skills and

selflessly helping others even though she did not have much.

She leaves behind three children: daughters Terri Morris of Hemet, California, and Katina Manley of Detroit, Michigan; one son, Eugene Manley Jr. of New York, NY; two brothers: Edward Christian of Anniston,

Alabama and Bobby Christian of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren: Robert Alven of San Diego, CA, Erwin Alven of San Diego, California, Michael Alven of Hemet, California, and Tileesa Alven of Fort Leonard,

Missouri; and two great grandchildren Jordyn Alven and Triniti Alven. She also leaves behind one niece and five nephews.

The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Sinai Grace Hospital and Residential Hospice for their exceptional care and support during this challenging time. The family acknowledges, with sincere

appreciation, the many comforting messages, floral tributes, and other expressions of kindness evidenced at this time in thought and deeds.

A service to celebrate the life of Nadine Marie Manley will be held 1:00PM Friday, February 14, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley. Following the services Nadine will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
