Nancy Jane Crowder

Nancy Jane Crowder 78 of Prosperity WV went home to be with her Jesus on July 7th 2014 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill WV after a long illness of congestive heart failure. Nancy was born September 20th 1935 in Beckley WV to the late Basil Ray and Lettie Margaret Williams. Nancy worked as a cook in the public schools, and then later opened her own catering service. She has made many beautiful wedding cakes. She always did the extra things to help people’s special day more special. She always had a huge smile on her face and a kind word for all. Nancy had an amazing sense of humor; she loved to laugh and enjoyed making other people happy as well. She made her home a warm and inviting place for others. Nancy was a member of the Maple Fork Baptist Church where she loved spending time. She loved her church family, and they loved her! In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Henry F. Crowder of 28 years; Brother Ralph Williams and a Sister, Linda Crouch. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dale Cadle and his wife Barbara of Beckley; Daughter, Sandy D. Milam and her husband Andy of Waskom Texas; son, Henry A. Crowder and his wife Beth of Fayetteville NC; daughter, Varina Crowder Rochette and her husband Rocky from Fort Mead, FL; grandchildren Jeremy Crowder his wife Andrea, Heather Austin and her husband Chris, James Alfred Milan, Missy Royster and her husband Jimmy, Donna Glisson and her husband Jamie; great grandchildren Jackson and Madison Crowder, Amber and Jimmy Royster, Pearl, Rena Crowder. Patsy Webb, Jamie Jr.; sisters, Peggy Venable her husband Lee of Hague Va. , Margaret William Roop of Beckley, Betty Williams Goad of Prosperity, Lisa Felice and her husband Adria of Florence, SC, Cathy Williams of Prosperity; and also numerous of nieces and Nephews. A celebration of Nancy’s life will be 1pm Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Maple Fork Baptist church with Pastor Jim Bowyer officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity. The family will receive friends on July 11, 2014 from 6-9pm at the church. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Crowder, Randy Stump, Glen Williams, Buford Williams, Kevin Godbey, Robert and Billy Austin, Barry Pennington. In lieu of flowers donations in Nancy’s memory to the Good News Hour P.O. box 203 Bradley WV 25801. Nancy nourished people around her with her love and faith in God.
