With hearts full of love and gratitude, we remember Patricia (Pat) V. Duncan, whose kindness, strength, and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Pat went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2026. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness, the love she shared and the memories she created will remain with her family and friends forever.
Born on February 28, Pat lived her life with a deep love for others and a genuine concern for the people around her. She was known for her kindness, helpfulness, patience, and willingness to speak her mind about the things she believed in. These qualities shaped the way she lived and made her a source of comfort, strength, and joy to those fortunate enough to know her.
She was the loving wife of Jerry Duncan, who was by her side for over 32 years of marriage. Pat was a devoted mother to Lee Pack, Steve Pack (Dawn), Kim Frye (Joeb Vance), and Jay Duncan. Her family was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she treasured every moment she spent with them.
She leaves behind her grandchildren, Amanda Pack (Jason Barber), Chris Frye, Cassidy Plumley (Wyatt Plumley), Marissa Pack, Iris Duncan, Ashley Allen, and William Allen, along with five great-grandchildren, including her little angel, CJ, who held a very special place in her heart.
She also leaves behind her sisters Drema Thompson, Brenda Morrison (Rick), Barbara Milam, Edie Rose who she loved very much.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Thearn H. Ellis and Merle Ellis, and her brothers, Thearn H. Ellis Jr and John Ellis.
Pat dedicated over 40 years to Verizon/Frontier Communications, where she worked hard and built many lasting friendships before retiring as a supervisor. She loved the people she worked with and carried those friendships with her throughout her life.
Outside of work, Pat loved to travel and make memories with the people she loved. She especially enjoyed visiting The Greenbrier, and she had a special love for anything that sparkled. That little sparkle was part of who she was—she brought her own light into the lives of the people around her.
Pat will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, her strength, her sense of humor, her love for her family, and the memories she created will remain in their hearts forever.
Although we grieve the loss of Pat’s presence, we find comfort in knowing that she is resting peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord. Her earthly journey is complete, but the faith, love, and joy she shared continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. In the days ahead, may the memories of her laughter, her warmth, and her unwavering love bring comfort and remind us that she will always remain a part of us.
Rest peacefully, Mom. Until we meet again in the presence of the Lord, know that you are loved beyond measure and missed more deeply than words can express. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts forever.
Pallbearers: Ben Ward, Trey Ward, Michael Phillips, Jason Barber, Jared Lester, and George “GW” Whittaker.
