Patricia Ann Mullens

Patricia Ann Mullens (82) of Beckley, West Virginia, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on July 28, 2026, at 10:25 p.m. at Bowers Hospice House. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Bobby Ray Mullens.

Born on March 4, 1944, in Baileysville, West Virginia, Patricia was the daughter of the late Franklin Pierce Short and Jessie Thomas Short. She was a proud graduate of Man High School, Class of 1962. She spent her early years in Man and Pineville, West Virginia, before later making her home in Beckley.

In addition to being a loving wife, Patricia was a mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many. She lived a beautiful and meaningful life, bringing joy and warmth wherever she went. Patricia had a special way of brightening every room with her laughter, kindness, and genuine love for others.

Patricia was a devoted Christian and longtime member of Packs Branch Baptist Church, where she enjoyed many sermons from Pastor Sam and Pastor Eric while faithfully serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and was reflected in the way she lived, served, and cared for those around her.

Patricia was a family woman, traveler, and someone whose generosity touched many lives. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband, playing many rounds of card games, square dancing and line dancing, taking mystery bus trips, spending winters in Florida, and most of all, making memories with the family and friends she cherished. She found great joy in helping others and giving back to her community. Patricia generously volunteered her time to her church, Church Camp for Children, and Toys for Tots. She was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Red Hat Society, and Beta Sigma Phi, organizations where she built lasting friendships and continued her commitment to serving others.

Patricia worked at Holloway Drug and Wyoming Insurance in Pineville, where she dedicated many years to supporting her family. Her strong work ethic, caring nature, and willingness to help others were qualities that defined the life she lived.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Tammy Mullens Cook (husband Jerry Cook); her son, Bobby Joe Mullens (partner Pam Browning); her sister-in-law, Beverly Gordon; and her three beloved grandchildren, Tyler Pertee, Emalee Mullens (partner Jeremy Smolens), and Jake Cook (wife Amanda Cook).

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Bowers Hospice House and nurses Serena, Larah, and Jenna for their exceptional care, compassion, and support. Their kindness provided great comfort to Patricia and her family during her final days.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, to celebrate Patricia’s life. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Eric Davis officiating. She will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the service. Pallbearers will include her grandsons, Tyler and Jake, her son-in-law, Jerry, and dear friends of many years, Jerry Dickens, Dan Robertson, and Jeremy Smolens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Packs Branch Baptist Church Building Fund or Bowers Hospice House of Beckley, West Virginia, in memory of Patricia.

Patricia’s unwavering faith, generous heart, joyful spirit, and love for her family will leave a lasting legacy. Those who knew her can find comfort knowing she is once again dancing with Bob, hand in hand, celebrating eternity in all of His glory. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
