Ralph Martin Sutphin, 68, of Crab Orchard, WV, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on April 22. He was surrounded by his loved ones and closed his eyes knowing that he had fought the good fight and won the race to be crowned with his eternal reward.
Born Jan. 25, 1950, to Erma Lois Cook Sutphin and Ralph Bundy Sutphin of Maben.
Ralph loved to spend his free time hunting, fishing and being with his family and friends. He demonstrated his love and faith in all that he did. Serving the Lord through his singing and fellowship for 43 years, always ready with a joke and a big hug.
Survivors include his sweetheart of 50 incredible years, Diane Sue Burleson Sutphin; oldest daughter, Shawnna Christine "Christi" Sutphin Fitzwater and her children, Zachary Martin Hardee and Maggie Elizabeth Hardee; only son, Ralph Martin Sutphin II and his wife, Katie Sue Cook Sutphin, and children, Landon Martin Sutphin and Caden Jaymes Sutphin.
An open memorial service will be held April 26, at Coal City Freewill Baptist Church from 1 to 2 pm. The funeral service will follow with Pastor Charles Brown officiating.
