Rebecca Susan Schuman

Rebecca Susan Schuman, 55, of Beckley passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015. Rebecca was born in Pineville, on September 19, 1959 to parents, Sonny and Sue Schuman, and she grew up in Glen Rogers. After graduating from Glen Rogers High School, Rebecca attended Concord College where she received certifications in several areas of the medical field. She enjoyed helping others and was able to do so during her versatile career in medicine. Rebecca was a very witty woman and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking and quilting, and loved animals, especially horses. Rebecca was an avid collector of Barbie dolls and had an entire room dedicated to her vast collection. In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Mark Ruane; sister, Robyn Stone and husband, Darrell; two nieces, Kelly Cook and Dana Costelnock; three great-nieces; and one great-nephew. Funeral services for Rebecca will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 12 noon with Pastor Ken Killen officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 am to 12 noon. Burial will follow the service in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
