Richard Lee Hornsby

Born August 26, 1959 in Beckley, West Virginia. Richard was an avid Carolina Panthers and WVU fan. He enjoyed car racing, canoeing, water skiing, snow skiing and he loved being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his niece, Carla Michelle Cooper.

Those left to cherish his memory includes sisters, Janet Cooper and husband, Michael “Chuck” of Beckley, and Tammy Ballard and husband Roger of Bradley; brother Robert Hornsby and wife Linda of York, SC; nieces, Shevaun Cooper, Nicole Sexton and Tara Ballard; nephews, Michael “Chuck” Cooper II and Mike Via; extended family and many beloved friends.

Friends may gather with the family Friday, September 16, 2016 from 12-2pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 2pm, Friday, September 16, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Grear officiating.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Phil Kincaid, Michael “Chuck” Cooper, Mike Via, Frank Hartenstein, Todd Kincaid and David Stone will be serving as pallbearers.
