Mr. Richard Lee Graham Hughes Sr.

RICHARD LEE GRAHAM HUGHES, SR. Richard Lee Graham Hughes, Sr, beloved, father, grandfather, brother, and friend of Tams, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 following a long illness. Born April 9, 1947 at Tams; he was a son of the late Robert L. Hughes, Sr and the late Wanda Helmondollar Hughes. Mr. Hughes loved hunting, fishing and was a WVU Mountaineer Fan, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his 3 granddaughters. He was a Maintenance Foreman and Chief Electrician with 32 years of dedicated service. Mr. Hughes served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters, Dorothy Hughes, Robert C. Hughes, Geneva Tomasko, Nancy Batson, and Tommy Hughes. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Richard L.G. Hughes, Jr and wife, Reba of Prosperity; three granddaughters, Kayla, Kelsey, and Kourtney Hughes all of Prosperity; five siblings, Doris Harney and husband, Bob of Bloomfield, NJ, Lewis Hughes and wife, Debbie of Helen, Oscar Hughes and wife, Patty of Helen, Danny Hughes and wife, Rexanna of Sophia, and Denny Hughes and wife, Helen of Crab Orchard; sister-in-law, Sumiko Hughes of Petersburg, VA; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. Services to celebrate the life of Richard Lee Graham Hughes, Sr will be held 2:00PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Pastor George Wood officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 6:00PM until 9:00PM Friday at the funeral home.
