Richard Young

Born April 15, 1944 he was the son of the late Joseph Earl Young and the late Pearletta Carmen Pack Young of Prosperity.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Peggy Young, and three sisters Christine Houck, Charlotte Hicks and Lyanna Gail Webb as well as two brothers, William Young and Donnie Leon Young.

He is survived by his loving children, daughter Loretta Pack of Beckley, daughter Terry and husband Rodger Pierce of Beaver, daughter Patricia Garris of Beckley and son Richard Young and wife Melissa of MacArthur; Nine grandchildren, James, Joseph, Ashley, Pamela, Kimberly, John, Shaun, Rodger and Sara; 22 great grandchildren; brothers Robert Young of Mabscott, Samuel Young and wife Sharon of Richmond, VA; three sisters Christie Cummings of Beckley, Linda Miller and husband Ron of Beckley, Tammy Carter and husband Don of Beckley. He was also loved and cherished and will be greatly missed by brothers and sisters in law on his wife's side of the family.

He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. He lived for his family and the Good Lord. He was a devoted Christian who is now at peace with the lord.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Lester officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 10:00 am until service time. Mr. Young will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
