Ruby Frances Rupe

Ruby Frances Rupe, age 81, of Beckley, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born on January 25, 1939 in Helen, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lundy Mills and Peggy Elizabeth Milam Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Harvey Blevins; her second husband, Marvin Rupe; her children, Kathy Marie Blevins, Teresa Harold, Gloria Gambrell, and Wallace Bo Blevins; and her siblings, Eugene Robert Mills, Betty Lee Lee, Clifton C. Mills and William F. Mills.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her daughter, Goldie Meadows and her fiancé, Jack Shorter; grandchildren, Billy Bolen, Matthew Bolen, David Gambrell, Santana Frazier, Ashley Meadows and fiancé, Nick Fink, Tosha Meadows and fiancé, Nick Pugh, Willie Blevins and Christina Blevins; great-grandchildren, Apollo Fink, Kayden Meadows, Noah Fink, Cyrus Pugh and Enzo Fink; siblings, Myrtle Marie Basham, Oley Andrew Mills and wife, Judy, Thelma Mullens, Thurman Roger Mills and Roby Roscoe Mills and wife, Leona; her special nephew, Donald Ray Haga; many other nieces and nephews; and her life-long best friend of 78 years, Phyllis Lambert Covey.

Ruby was a member of Soak Creek Gospel Tabernacle Church for over 70 years. She loved canning, especially for other people, and enjoyed crafts. Ruby was known to have a “green thumb” enjoying her garden and her indoor and outdoor flowers. A loving and devoted woman, Ruby cherished spending time with her family and had a passion for our country’s Veterans.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Mills Cemetery in Soak Creek, WV. Honoring Ruby as pallbearers will be her family and friends.

In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings at all times.
