Sheila Rice

Sheila D Rice, 47, of Fayetteville, WV, won her battle with acute myeloid leukemia and went home to Heaven at 07:30am on August 17, 2015. She was born on February 13, 1968 and grew up in McDowell County where she met and married her true love of over 28 years marriage. She lived on her Fayette County farm in Fayetteville, WV with her husband Alan, her most cherished son, Jacob and many pets and animals she loved so dearly. Sheila was a long time dog trainer, breeder, competitor and owner of Wolf Creek Kennel. She bred, raised and showed many champion show dogs. Sheila was a strong, faithful woman of God and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in MacArthur, WV. She battled leukemia many times in the last 8 years, but always had an amazing attitude, cheerful smile and fighting spirit right to the end of life here on earth. She is survived by her husband Alan Rice; son, Jacob Rice; mother, Helen Powell; “mom” in law, Phyllis Rice; Nan Mildred Ward, many aunts, uncles, cousins, Christian brothers and sisters and dear friends. Sheila is loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be held 12:00PM on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas Shepard officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may gather with the family from 11 – 12 PM at the church.
