

On March 2, 2021, Shirley Ann (Evans) Stone, age 72 of Beckley, passed away after 54 years of loving marriage to the love of her life Eddie. Her absence leaves our world a lonelier place.
She was born on July 30, 1948 to the late Maynard Evans and the late Dorothy Evans at Superior WV. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Eddie, a daughter Robin of Beckley, a son Billy, of Parkersburg, grandchildren Jacob, Brittney, and Brent and siblings Teresa, Charles and Mike. She was a Christian and attended Bolt Church of God. Her love touched countless lives through her journey in this life.
Shirley attended Superior Elementary School and graduated from Welch WV High School. It was there that she met her soul mate Eddie in September 1964. After graduation in 1966, Shirley took pride in continuing her first job at G.C. Murphy Company in Welch. Shirley and Eddie married on March 2, 1967. They pursued careers in Springfield MA. When Eddie was called to active duty with the WV National Guard, Shirley remained in Springfield with her close friend Karen (Mills) Lester and working for Monarch Life Insurance Company. Upon the conclusion of Eddie’s military service they relocated back to Welch WV. Shirley held a variety of positions with Doctors Memorial Hospital, Tug River Clinic and Mount View High School. Shirley was an accomplished business woman having launched several successful companies in Beckley and Summersville. She loved spending summers with her family at Myrtle Beach.
Funeral service will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Saturday March 6, 2021 at 1pm. Friends may gather with the family at Noon. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
