Shirley Maxine Radford Taylor, age 87, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House. Born on April 17, 1931 in Beards Fork, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph Radford and Evelyn Settle Radford.
Mrs. Taylor was a former member of Jones Avenue Church of God and a beautician for 50 years. She owned and operated Beauty Fair Salon in Oak Hill. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Taylor, Sr.
She is survived by her children, George W. Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, Gary L. Taylor and his wife, Deanna and Carolyn Sue Miller and her husband, Eric J.; her six grandchildren, Olivia Bane, George W. “Trey” Taylor, III, Monica Gerber, Christal Pugh, Gary L. Taylor, Jr. and Jonathan Taylor; her 11 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Linda Adkins, and Kathy Gray and her husband, Leslie; her brothers, Dick Radford and his wife, Phyllis and Harold Radford and his wife, Alma; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Susie Olsen.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Tower Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Bowers Hospice House-Hospice of Southern West Virginia, 456 Cranberry Dr. Beckley, West Virginia 25801.
