Ted C. Maxey passed away peacefully in his sleep in Beaver, on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Born June 12, 1939 in Lillybrook, WV to the late Dale and Francis Woods Maxey. He was a retired Federal Mine Inspector and member of Free Mason, the American Legion, Shriners Lion Club and a 20+ year member of the Beckley Moose Club. Ted enjoyed camping and the outdoors when he wasn’t working. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Crystal Maxey. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Terry Maxey and Beth McKnight Underwood of Beaver; sister, Lois Jones Maxey of Colorado; grandchildren, Jessica Maxey of Charleston, WV, Travis Maxey of Melbourne, FL, Natasha Maxey Prince and Michael Price II of Lake Norman NC and Ashley Duncan of Pittsburg, PA; and six great-grandchildren. Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home from 6-8pm. A committal service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 11am at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
