Dean was a loving man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to spend his time outdoors, especially hunting and farming. Dean also loved to travel, one of his favorite places to go was the Smoky Mountains. He will be remembered for the special memories he made with his family, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife Loretta, brothers Norman Atha, Roy Atha, and Michael Atha, nephew Patrick Atha, and niece Debbie. Those left to cherish his memory include his brother Bobby Atha, and nieces Doris, Patricia, Cindy, and Carmel.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 1PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley, WV. A funeral service will follow at 2PM. Blue Ridge Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
