Shari Lee Laun, peacefully passed away at home on Sat. Jan 18, 2020 after a long 8 yr. battle with ovarian cancer surrounded by the love and care of her life partner Mary Brauns, and other family and friends. Shari was born in Baltimore, MD on April 2, 1963. Beloved daughter of Douglas M. Shriver and the late Sandra Fisher Shriver, sister to D. Scott Shriver. Loving Aunt to Autumn Shriver (Fernando Crespo) and their children Nando and Cristhian, loving cousin to Rebecca Betz and many many others.
Shari grew up in Baltimore/Voiletville with the love, support and guidance of generations of family past and present. Shari loved her second home at the beach and to have her face in the sun and toes in the sand. The beach was her happy place. Shari had a passion for music and concerts and was an excellent cook and loved entertaining.
You could find her at a Happy hour with an occasional cosmo or dirty martini in hand. She lived life to the fullest.
Shari graduated from Keough high school and earned her BS from UMBC and her Master’s degree from Towson State University. Shari was a manager for BCPS in the office of Information Technology Project management &Application Services where she was well respected and adored by her close work family.
Shari was a devoted friend to so many and it was hard not to fall in love with her wisdom and spirit when you met her.
She loved steamed crabs, Rhebs candy, pasta and ice cream. Loved going to Camden yards and the O's and watching the Ravens. Last but not least Shari loved her puppies Abbey, Frasier, Bella and Tucker.
Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014 on Saturday from 12 to 5 PM. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3 PM.
