

Anthony J. Petralia, Sr. age 93, of Abingdon MD, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2021. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Petralia, son Anthony J. Petralia, Jr (Judy), grandchildren Anthony J. Petralia, III (Cassandra), and Angela Strong, stepchildren Rick Fulco (Susan) and David Fulco, Dana Morgan (John), father-in-law of Tina DelBrocco Fulco, step-grandchildren Kai Fulco, (Stephanie), Sammantha Cummings, Isabella Fulco, Sophia Fulco, and Luciano Fulco, and four great-granddaughters. Also survived by sister-in-law Delores Scott, uncle of Marylou Smith (David) and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends and co-workers.
He was pre-deceased by his loving first wife Lucille Petralia (nee Dopman), daughter Rosemary, sisters Mary Maiorana and Rose Cloman, and parents Nunzio and Sebastiana (nee Grasso) Petralia.
Anthony was born on South Exeter Street in Baltimore’s Little Italy to immigrant parents from Sicily. Tony -as he was known to all- was the first in his family to attend college, graduating from the Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1952 with honors. He served during WWII as a Pharmacists’ Mate 3rd Class for the Hospital Corps, with additional certification as a Laboratory Technician. Tony was one of the founders of the Gardenville Lions Club, where he was a member for over 40 years.
Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Rd., Bel Air MD 21014, on Thursday, August 12, 2021, 2-4 & 6-8 pm, and where a funeral service will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021, at 11:30 am. Interment Parkwood Cemetery.
