Gus was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 13, 1951. He was the son of Augustave Labasi, Sr. and Eileen (Park) Labasi. Gus is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate of 45 years, Constance (Greene) Labasi; son Jeffrey Labasi and wife Mary of Durham, CT, grandchildren Natalie, Derek and Audrey Labasi; sisters Valerie (James) Cordock of Indiantown, FL, Teresa Hamilton (Michael Chance) of Waterford, CT, Veronica (Alan) Garey of Waterford, CT, Sister -in-law Debbie Labasi of Preston, CT; Brother-in-law Michael (Christine) Greene of Abingdon, MD, Brother-in-law Sam (Alice) Ostrowski of Scotia, NY and brother-in-law Ira (Erin) Ostrowski of Topeka, KS. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Labasi. Gus is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 7th at St. Joseph Catholic Church 149 Montauk Avenue, New London, CT 06320.
