Barbara Jane (Jewell) Ports

Barbara Jane (Jewell) Ports, born on April 17, 1944, passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 81. She was the beloved wife of Franklin "Buddy" Ports, Sr.; devoted mother of Thomas Ports, Sr., and his wife Jane, Franklin "Buddy" Ports, Jr., and his wife Lori; loving grandmother of Thomas Ports, Jr. (Shanna), Joseph Ports (Amanda), Christina Van Deusen (Tyler), Rebecca Hofstetter (Dwight), Leah Hadry (Kenny), Nicholas Ports (Madalyn), Chloe Zacerous (Hunter), and soon to be 10 great grandchildren; also survived by her step-father Richard Amereihn, Sr., her sister, Linda Hamilton (Brian), step-sister, Sonia Lambert, sister-in-laws, Ruth "Sis" Jewell, Eleanor Wagoner, brother-in-law, Frances Coleman, many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father and mother Frank Jewell & Margaret Jewell Amerehin, her 2 brothers and 5 sisters, Charles Jewell, Bruce Jewell, "Cookie" Winiarski (Bernie), Norma Feaster (Ray), Nancy Cole (John), Leona Coleman, and Joy Baer, sister-in-law Catherine "Cas" Rappe (Ray),and brother-in-law Lionel Wagoner.

Visitation services will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., located at 610 W MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm.

The committal service will take place at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, located at 5598 Trumps Mill Road, Baltimore, MD 21206.
