For 25 years, we were lucky to have Mickie and her husband Don as our next-door neighbors in Kingsville. From the day we moved in, Mickie embraced us with warmth and generosity. During our time as neighbors, we were invited to family parties at their home and to use their pool. We were family too! Their July 4th parties were epic and Mickie would prepare and organize an amazing spread of food for guests. On the night before we moved to Florida, Mickie and Don hosted a farewell crab feast for us. This is just one example of the kindnesses extended to us during our time as neighbors. We were touched by her thoughtfulness on many occasions. 

We are heartbroken that Mickie has left us. It was far too soon but we will remember her fondly for her kindness and being the best neighbor we could have asked for. We hope that her family finds peace and comfort in knowing how she touched so many.

My Sister Mickie has lived a beautiful life that was shared with  
her Husband Don and children.    She opened her home to family and friends on any and all occasions with a gracious smile.
Having 10 Brothers and sisters, you can imagine the stories
we can share but, at this time, have only stored them away as "MEMORIES"

Don, Leslie, Bill and all the family, we grieve with you all over Mickie's passing. We will never forget the kindnesses and hospitality shared by you and your dear wife Mickie to our own family when we experienced the challenges of pain and loss.  May the Lord be your comfort:

What a beautiful kind person.  Grew up with Leslie, Donnie and Kevin.  So many wonderful  memories to share…  Good times in Holland Hill and Pleasant Hills.  Our family’s always lived within 4 houses from each other! What I remember most though is how “put together” Mrs. Mickey was.  Always beautifully dressed, makeup done and not a hair out of place.  She was a Class Act.  She left a lasting  impression on me and I don’t believe I ever told her.  I admired the mother she was to her children.  She was easy going but hard as nails when she needed to be.  It’s no wonder all her children loved and respected her.  Some of her actions growing up and watching her I utilized with my own children.     She truly was a wonderful human and I always enjoyed being around her and Mr. Don both.  They were both so good to me and great friends to my Mom and Dad.   I pray  for her family and their healing during this difficult time.  God Bless all of you.

We are so sad to hear about Miss Mickie’s passing. How fortunate we are to have had the opportunity to get to know her.

She was the consummate hostess and opened her home to us on many occasions for 4th of July parties, graduation parties and other celebrations. 

At every event, whether at her house or somewhere else—even just sitting outside as we walked past—she always had a smile and kind words to share. Her love for her family was evident in all she did.

What a legacy of happy memories she leaves behind!
