

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Donn N Lorhammer at the age of 75. Born on October 20th, 1950 in Mankato, Minnesota, Donn lived a full and adventurous life. For 28 years, he served in the U.S. Navy as an officer, a navy nuke, a submariner, and a nuclear repair officer of the Trident-class submarine fleet.
After retiring, Donn became a professor at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado where he taught mathematics, meteorology, oceanography, and geology for 21 years. Upon full retirement, he moved to Bel Air, Maryland to be closer to his grandchildren. An avid golfer, skier, pilot, master bridge player, bass guitar and piano player, and lifelong sports enthusiast, Donn was always a ‘busy guy,’ and shared his knowledge and love of these pursuits with his children and grandchildren over the years.
A funeral with military honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado at a later date.
Donn is survived by his wife, Janame, his four children -Gretchen, Karna Couch (m. Chris), Kurt (m. Jenn), and Erik- his four grandchildren -Lexi and Christian (Karna) and Laevyn and Ellie (Erik)- his sister, Debby and niece, Melissa.
