

A graduate of Patterson High School she began her career at United States Fidelity & Guarantee Company, where she met her husband in the early 1950s, subsequently employed by Weaver Brothers Mortgage Company, which merged with Wye Mortgage Company, for 27 years. She was known for her delicious crab cakes and in her younger years, enjoying a Manhattan or two! She and her loving husband of 67 years, Gerald M. Kavanagh (who passed away in 2018), loved the theater as well as visiting, on a regular basis, Dover Downs Casino and Ocean City, Maryland. They were fortunate to travel the world, including nearly 20 European countries and Russia as well as enjoyed cruising to hundreds of ports. They met and entertained many celebrities through membership in both local and national professional associations
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Bertha Espenhain and brother, William Oleson. Doris is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Kavanagh Lambdin (Joseph), granddaughter, Jennifer Lambdin Doyle (Kent), two great granddaughters, Caelen and Peighton Doyle as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Interment at Bel Air Memorial Gardens, 809 Rock Spring Road, Bel Air, Maryland 21014
