Dorothy was the consummate caretaker. The oldest of six girls, she helped her mother care for her sisters from an early age. She married Floryan Trzcinski, whom she loved dearly, at the age of 22, and had five children, all born in the 1950s. Sadly, Dorothy was just 38 when Floryan passed away, leaving her as the sole caretaker of five young children.
Being the strong and industrious woman she was, Dorothy immediately went to work at Koppers Co. to ensure her children had everything they needed. Working at Koppers was a highlight of her life. She was accomplished, highly respected, and often spoke fondly of her time there.
Dorothy later married William Edward Morin and had the opportunity to travel and enjoy life. Family and holidays were very important to her, always marked by special celebrations and plenty of good food.
Dorothy was not a complainer. She was a wonderful listener, something that was appreciated by everyone. People naturally gravitated toward her because of her kind yet no-nonsense nature. She also loved to sing and dance and excelled at both. Education was very important to Dorothy, and she contributed a substantial amount toward the college education of her grandchildren.
Dorothy’s strength was tested again in her later years as she said goodbye to her second husband Ed, her mother Julia Trzeciak, her eldest son Kenneth, and her daughter Eileen. She cared for her second husband, mom, and son in her home as they each faced the end of their lives.
Even after breaking her hip in 2020, Dorothy remained determined to live life to the fullest. She worked hard each day to recover and refused to let the setback define her final years. Though the injury limited her mobility, it never diminished her determination or spirit. Even in the face of physical limitations, she remained engaged and resolute—a true reflection of the strength that defined her life.
She is survived by three of her children: Cynthia Jeannetta, Ronald Trzcinski, and Mary Jane Allen; her daughter-in-law, Theresa Trzcinski; and sons-in-law Thomas, Robert, and Reinhold. Dorothy was also very proud of her grandchildren, Cheryl, Christine, Brent, Kira and Gregory along with her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Claire, Galen, Rowan, Bennett and Maura all of whom she loved very much. She is also survived by three of her sisters: Mildred, Irene, and Celeste.
We all loved her with all our hearts, and she will be truly missed.
