Douglas Cyril Martin

June 30, 1941February 19, 2021

On February 19, 2021 Doug Cyril Martin passed away; beloved husband of Dolores MacMillan Martin; devoted father of Kimberly Martin Adler and Daniel MacMillan Martin; loving grandfather of Isabel Sophia Adler; dear brother of Bruce Martin and his wife Carol and the late Gordon Martin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Doug played lacrosse while in college for Towson State and University of Maryland. He was a teacher for 31 years with Baltimore County. He taught Social Studies for many years at Pine Grove Middle School and at Parkville High School. He is remembered fondly by his former students as a dedicated educator.

He was known as the mayor of 46th Street in Ocean City. After he retired from teaching, he loved spending time at the beach where many of his friends and former students would drop by to chat with him. Doug loved gardening and won the Aegis Newspaper award for Landscaping.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 27th at St. Mark Catholic Church (Fallston) at 12:30 pm for all who wish to attend. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of his favorite non-profits, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Richard and I are sending our condolences to family during this difficult time. I will always remember Doug's friendly personality at the beach and in his home. He was a great story teller and would connect to life experiences in and outside the classroom. May God give you comfort knowing he touched the lives of so many people.
