On March 17, 2024, Erma Papadimitriou (Tzomides), beloved wife and mother passed away at the age of 89. Born to Despina and Anastasios Tzomides, Erma graduated from Towson State University with a Bachelor's in Education and went on to a fifty-year career as an educator. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Nicolas E. Papadimitriou, her parents, and her brother, George Tzomides.
Erma was active in her community and church, an avid reader, an artist, an advocate for animals, but found her true calling in the classroom. Mrs. Pap worked tirelessly to ensure that all her students achieved success and imparted upon them a love of learning. In the mid-1980’s, while working full time and raising a family, she returned to Towson in the evenings to complete a Master’s in Education. She grew up and lived her entire life in the Greektown community of Baltimore, raising her family in the same home her parents purchased in 1932. Erma served on the Board of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for many years and was involved in major building improvements to the church as well as cultural festivals and events.
Erma is survived by her son George and his wife Melody, her son Emmanuel and his wife Linda, her grandchildren Shane, Nico, and Ilianna, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
