

Frank Richard Ragusa, aged 95, passed away peacefully at home in Bel Air, Maryland, on January 6, 2025. Born on May 6, 1929, in Freeport, New York, to Petrina and John Ragusa, Frank lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.
A devoted husband and father, Frank was a pillar of his community and a small business owner in Freeport, New York, for 47 years. He was a passionate advocate for the well-being of his neighbors, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. While much of his life was spent on Long Island, the beach was Frank's favorite retreat, where he cherished every opportunity to swim in the ocean.
Faith, family, and God were central to Frank’s life. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council, he considered it a great honor to serve and live out his faith in the community. He was a man of deep devotion, unwavering in his love for his family and friends.
Frank also had a zest for life that was reflected in his love of dancing. Known for his graceful spins on the dance floor, he brought joy to every occasion. After moving to Bel Air, Maryland, in 2002 with his beloved wife Maria (Lena), Frank found happiness in gardening, crossword puzzles, watching movies, and cheering for his favorite sports teams.
Frank is survived by his cherished wife, Maria (Lena) Ragusa; his loving children, Lisa and Patrick Parisi, Maria and Jim Flanagan, and Carla Ragusa; and his grandchildren, Joseph and Jillian Flanagan, Jamie and Joshua Sussex, Jennifer Flanagan, Megan Trotter, Tatiana Parisi, and Brent Ragusa-Klassen. He will also be deeply missed by his dear siblings, Joseph and Lucy Ragusa, Robert and Roxanne Ragusa, and Edith Ragusa.
Frank was predeceased by his son, Richard F. Ragusa, and his brother, John Ragusa.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, 610 W. MacPhail Rd., Bel Air, Maryland, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Catholic faith will be celebrated on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Saint Ignatius Church, 533 E. Jarrettsville Rd., Forest Hill, Maryland.
He will find his final resting place at Holy Rood Cemetery – Westbury, New York
Frank’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
