On October 8, 2015 Howard James Caughy, Sr. formerly of Stevensville, Maryland; beloved husband of the late M. Irene Brown Caughy; cherished father of Patricia Caughy Norico Ruckle and her husband Patrick Ruckle, Howard James Caughy, Jr. and Robert M. Caughy and his wife Anne Siess Caughy; dear brother in law of James I. Brown and his wife Julie and Sara Brown Whipple and Maxine Shank. He was the father in law of the late Arturo Perez Norico, M.D. and Gladys Phillips Caughy .He was predeceased by brothers and sisters in laws Joe and Elsie Brown, Jr., Bill and Casey Brown, Patricia Brown and John “Mickey” Brown, Sr. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 West MacPhail Road (at Rte 24) on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Ignatius Historic Church, Hickory on Tuesday at 11:15 am with interment to follow at the New Cathedral Cemetery.
