Jeanette Bond

Jeanette Bond, age 94, of Powell, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. Jeanette spent the last year of her life living in Ohio, where her son Robert and his wife, Carol lived. During her last year, she had her first birthday party, celebrating her 94th year of life. She passed a month later, peacefully, in October. She is survived by her son Robert, stepson Marvyn, grandsons Eric and Jason, and great-granddaughters Lyla and Zoe.

Jeanette lived a long life, focused on family and community. She was born and raised in western North Carolina, the oldest of four children. She lived most of her life in Maryland, moving there with her first husband, Grady. After Grady’s death, she married her second husband, Roy Bond. They worked together on a large rural paper route. Roy delivered papers while Jeanette helped deliver papers and kept the books.

Jeanette is continuing to give of herself after death by making the decision to donate her body to the Ohio State Medical School, so future generations of physicians can learn as much as possible from her long life.

A memorial gathering for Jeanette will be held Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014.
