Jeanne was born on June 1, 1925 in Brady Maternity Hospital in Albany, NY. After moving to Schenectady as a young girl, Jeanne graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1943. After graduation, Jeanne became an employee of General Electric Co. in their advertising and sales promotion department. Jeanne and Robert E. (Pep) Harold were married on September 13, 1947 after the end of World War II.
Jeanne was pre-deceased by her husband, Pep; her parents, Thomas F. Joyce and Elizabeth (McFerran) Joyce, and a sister, Mary (Joyce) Hecker. Jeanne is survived by her five children, Robert E. Jr. (Susan) of Pickerington, OH, Joyce M. Dugas (Dan) of Cranberry Township, PA, Thomas P. (Lori) of Crystal Lake, IL, Mark J. (Kathy) of Kingsville, MD and Michael P. (Robin) of Houston, TX. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Jeanne was a grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 8 and many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne and Pep raised their children while residing in many places including Scotia, NY, Arlington, VA and Pittsburgh, PA, but their hearts always remained in beautiful upstate New York where they eventually retired. When Pep passed away in 2011, Jeanne moved to the greater Baltimore area to be near to her son, Mark, and his family, who were her primary care-givers.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Fallston, MD on Friday, September 14, at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be sent to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org). The family would like to thank their Mom's caregivers at Morningside House of Satyr Hill, Caritas House Assisted Living, and Stella Maris for their efforts and dedication during the last seven years in Baltimore.
