John Vernon Strole, Jr.

On April 4, 2019, John V. Strole, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. His mind and body are now at rest following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Strole and Margaret McCord; cherished father of Karen Foley and her partner George Smith, and the late John V. Strole, III, and his surviving wife Deana Strole; loving grandfather of Devin and Ashley Strole, Jessica and Brandon Hepner.

Born on October 19, 1930 to Anna Frei and John Strole Sr. of Baltimore, MD. He grew up in Essex and served with the US Air Force in the Korean War. Upon his return, he was employed with Baltimore Gas & Electric Company and retired after 43 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am. Interment at Gardens of Faith Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Timonium, MD 21093
