I have been working on my Family tree and started to look into my relative and I came acroos the death of my Uncle Joe.  Aunt Bert I am so soory for your loss.  If your ever need to talk call me, Aunt Nancy has my number.  God bless you and your whole family.

Pop you were truly a great man.  A man that I can honestly say I was so proud to say is my grandfather.  Though you left the family heartbroken with your exit from earth and entrance to heaven, we have a million memories of all the good times we spent together.  I still have faint memories of spending time at your house in parkville in my early childhood...playing in the pool, nana making all of the grandkids snowballs, the easter egg hunts, etc...But my real memories of the truly great times were throughout my teens all the way until my early 30s.  It all started when you made another smart investment in 1982 and purchased "the farm" at auction.  It was the place to be not only for you and dad but Karen, Kathy and I..with an occcasional invite to some of our friends.  It was awesome.  The farm gave us many good years together.  We had the opportunity to see each other nearly 7 days a week.  Once the Ayres family got going in the horse racing business it was more good times on the horizon.  Seeing you and talking "racing" with you on a daily basis was great.  God only knows how many races we won as a team.  Like I told you and Nana at my rehearsal dinner...I feel like the luckiest guy in the world.  Unlike most grandkids, I had the honor of being with you and Nana all of the time.  I will NEVER forget it.  When it's my time to come and be with you we can sit back down and talk about all the great times...Kathleen the Queen, Tricky Di, and all of the rest who gave us those incredible cheers and laughter.  I miss you very much Pop and promise to stay strong and help keep Nana occupied.  The whole family owes you so much.  Without you so many of us would have struggled that much more.  Love, Mike

Very rarely do we meet anybody who is so accomplished but yet still remembers how tough it can be starting out in life.You were more than a boss to me you were a friend who I respected. thank you pop

My family and I had the utmost respect for Joe. He and Morris are talking homebuilding and especially horses right about now!

Pop you will always be number 1 with me! Along with Nana, my mom and dad you are my heart and soul. We shared so many great times together. As a child I was always your shadow. where ever you went I wanted to be there too whether it was the farm, the track, a horse auction, or the bowling alley. Throughout my life  you took such great care of me and looked after me. In your fianl years I had the opportunity to repay you by taking care of you.  Family meant so much to you and we will stick together. I will always cherish our times together. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful loving and caring man as a grandfather. I'm so proud of you as I know you are proud of me. The last words you spoke to me were "I love you! I am proud of you and thank you for taking such good care of me." I will never forget the last beautiful smile you gave me on 6/4/12 (nana's birthday). May you rest in peace, your stuggles are over. I know you will find lots of friends and family in heaven. Run and play with the horses. I know you will look after all of us. your legacy will live on in your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Until we meet again... I Love you! I have only pleasant memories of the man named, Joe Ayres. My father, Joe Waters, was a "racing" buddy with Joe. Many a Friday night they were off to Charles Town,W Va.to play the ponies.
