Dear Family of Joseph Marshall Kruse,

I was a childhood friend of Marshall's from the Southland Road neighborhood. We played together as friends but lost contact when we both entered high school. I last saw him when we were both seeking shelter from an ice storm at a restaurant in Perring Plaza Shopping Center in the early 1980's,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for you loss.

I am the daughter of Eugene and Stella Kruse (Gene was the brother of Marshall's dad). I am so sorry to hear about our cousin Marshall's death. I haven't seen him in years, but I always have fond and funny memories of the time we visited in either the summer of 1964 or 1965 and my sister, Donna, and I spent a lot of time with Marshall since he was close to our ages. We had a lot of fun kidding around and going places together. Just sorry that we hadn't gotten together since then. Again, so sorry for your loss!

We met Joe & Sue when we bought condos in the same row at Glen Riddle. We struck up an immediate friendship and discovered we knew some of the same people in Baltimore. We both rode motorcycles too. Always was a gentleman and kind to me and everyone we knew. He will be sorely missed. RIP my friend.

So many words to describe the man some of us knew as "Marsh" -- humble, gentle, loving, caring, admired, consistently generous, strong, determined, multi-talented, accomplished, sincere, hard-working, funny, forgiving and a winner, among others.
He was tremendous and at his best under pressure. Through the years, he played many sports well: golf, tennis, basketball, bowling, football and baseball. When he was underrated, he wouldn't say a word; he would just win and earn a ton of respect for how he did it. He dearly loved his wife, Sue, his daughter, Jennie, and grandson Andrew, and he was the best friend I can imagine anyone being. I knew him for 63 years. I wanted more, but I was extremely fortunate to have the time I had.

I was so sad to hear this news. Joe has to be one of the kindest persons I have ever meet. He was such a wonderful family man. You are going to be missed. I am saying prayers for you and your family.
