Kathleen Elizabeth Engler (nee Foertsch) passed away on October 8 th, 2026, at the age of 84. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the cherished matriarch of our family. Her love for her family was the absolute center of her life, and she poured her entire heart into creating a warm, welcoming home filled with laughter and beautiful traditions. Known for being exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and generous, she had a rare gift for making everyone feel valued and loved, and she was always an absolute joy to spend time with. The enduring love, lessons, and memories she created will continue to guide and comfort the generations she leaves behind. She is survived by her loving children, Joseph Muehlberger (Carrie), David Muehlberger, Gary Muehlberger, and Kimberly Thompson; her adoring grandchildren, Connor, Cody, Corey, Bryan, Kandace, Michael and the late Eric and Joey; and her precious great-grandchildren; Dear sister of Thomas Foertsch and Joseph Foertsch (Ruth); Also survived by her cousin Lisa and sister-in-law Shirley; Kathleen is proceeded in death by her late husband Russell Engler.
Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed, and she will remain lovingly alive in the thoughts and memories of her family, relatives, and lifelong, and newly made friends.
Relatives and friends may visit at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., located at 610 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, MD, 21014 on Thursday, October 15 th, 2026, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, located at 533 E. Jarrettsville Rd. Forest Hill, Maryland 21050 on Friday, October 16 th, 2026, at 11am.
