Kenneth Reese, devoted husband of the late Theresa Reese for nearly 70 years; beloved father of Robin Moran and Terry McGill, and cherished father-in-law of PJ. Loving Grandpop to Lindsey Pouncy (Ryan), Scott Moran, Megan Kerrigan (Brendan), and Jordan McGill (Melissa), and proud Pop to Layla, Ryder, Reese, Blake, Maggie, and Julian. He was also a treasured friend and neighbor to many.
Ken was born at home on Milton Avenue in Baltimore City to Henry and Hazel Reese. He was one of four children, joining his late siblings Harry Reese, Margaret Falter, and Bess Lorbor.
After marrying in 1955, Ken and Theresa began their life together in an upstairs apartment on Erdman Avenue. Shortly thereafter, their first daughter, Robin, was born. Their home was not far from where Ken began his 40-year career at Armco Steel. Starting in the steel mill, he worked his way up to a successful career in sales. Determined to continue his education, he attended night classes and earned his bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University. He proudly wore his Hopkins ring throughout his life.
In 1960, Ken and Theresa moved to Bagley Avenue in Parkville, where they welcomed their second daughter, Terry. Surrounded by a close-knit community of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, they built a life filled with lasting memories. Ken especially loved the "step parties" on Aunt Georgie and Uncle Bud's front porch, where neighbors gathered to share stories, laughter, and a beer or two.
Ken was a hard worker in every aspect of life. Whether at work, attending night school, or building his clubhouse basement, he approached every project with dedication and determination. When he wasn't working, he loved taking Theresa and the girls out to dinner, often to Little Italy, the Blue Bell, or Angelina's. Those outings became treasured family traditions.
All year long, Ken looked forward to one special week in Ocean City spent with family, neighbors, and friends. The memories made during those summer vacations remain forever in the hearts of those who shared them.
As the years passed, Ken and Theresa moved to Harford County, where Ken entered semi-retirement. Together, they enjoyed spending their winters in Cocoa Beach, Florida, creating many happy memories in the sunshine.
More than anything, Ken loved his family. His grandchildren brought him immense joy in his later years. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate their lives, from baptisms, baseball games, and recitals to graduations, proms, and weddings.
Family was Ken's greatest pride and deepest joy. It was truly his life's work, and it was a life very well lived.
