I will never forget how precious Kristen was when I would babysit her as a toddler .... I remember trying to show her how to say the word yellow. Her little voice would say “lello .”
I would say, “yellow “ and she would repeat... “lello.” So then I tried to sound it out with her:
“Ye - ll-o.” She tried to repeat after me but instead she went, “YE - LELLO.” And it was absolutely priceless. It is a memory of her that I have to this very day & will always cherish. ♥️ Xoxo

Kristin, from elementary school to high school, college, same part-time job, many OC trips, Belize, countless hours of making memories, being in each others weddings, having babies... the list goes on. Thank you for being such a great friend and all the adventures we had together. Thank you for always being supportive of me. Thank you especially for always showing up! No matter the occasion, or distance, you showed up and celebrated countless birthdays, milestones, and life. Love you, miss you. Enjoy the heavenly party. Until we meet again.

This picture is from the very first time we met at our first Archaeological field school at Towson, and it was the beginning of a truly wonderful friendship. We became instant friends, and through the rest of our years at college together and the years we worked together in the field after, you were a constant in my life. From the hours we spent at your moms house studying or hanging out before, in between and during class, to the fun times we had on weekends, to the countless days we spent trudging through the woods shovel bumming, and the weeks we spent living in hotels together on digs, you quickly became one of my very best friends. You were so sweet and kind, and I will never ever forget your laugh. Over the years since we both started families, we have seen each other less than I would have liked, but you have never stopped being one of my best friends, I love you and I will never forget you. Matt, Terry and beautiful Rowan, I am more sorry than I can even express for the loss of such a beautiful daughter, wife and mommy, but her memory will live on in you and all of the people who’s lives she has touched.

Kristin, I always enjoyed our time together, just hanging out for an event or meeting with the crew for football. I especially looked forward to coming over for Friendsgiving! Our story may have had a bit of a bumpy start back in the day, but it grew into something great and I am so happy you and your family are a part of my life. Though it won’t be the same, whenever we see Matt and Rowan, we will see you. I will miss you Kristin, you’ll always have a place in my heart!

Every time I saw you, you always had a smile on your face and would give the most endearing hugs. I feel blessed to have become friends with you over the years and will cherish all the memories we have had with birthday parties to holiday parties and everything in between. You and Matt introduced me and Tom to Friendsgiving and we always looked forward to It every year! Football Sundays with our crew will never ever be the same again. Sweet little Rowan will know what an amazing, loving, sweet, dedicated and kind hearted Mom she had. We all will make sure of it! Kristin, you were taken from this world incredibly way too soon. You will be sorely missed....until we meet again.
I love you!

Tried to find as many pictures as I had that hadn’t been posted of Kristin Griffen and in doing so my heart started to hurt because she’s been such a constant in my life and I can’t imagine all these events and pictures without her now. But she led a beautiful life and she mattered to so many people and I have to hold on to all our memories because they were the very best.

Where do I start. We met each other at Hampton Elementary school. We went to two different middle schools but within the first few days of high school we reconnected. I may have bounced around from group to group but you were so inclusive and we remained good friends. You, Jess and Dei gave me a wonderful bracelet for my 18th birthday. It say forever with our initials on the back. I lost touch with you in college but we picked back up once I returned. I always looked forward to our dinner dates and catching up. I am so proud of the person who you were, the mom that you became and the friendship we had. You will always be in my heart! Love you dearly, my friend.
