It’s so difficult to write about Lin’s passing because of the huge hole it leaves in our lives. I was fortunate to be her friend—we shared a mutual love of the sun and water, TV and movies, and of course, food. 

We had so many wonderful vacations in Clearwater and Rehoboth. Lin was a fantastic travel buddy, always up for a dolphin cruise, big pancake breakfast, and even a fishing trip. Since we both always ran 15 minutes late, we were perfectly in sync.

I will miss Lin’s wit and generosity, her exasperated expression when someone did something foolish, and her laughter. Lin also got to know my mom well, and they had surprisingly similar tastes in TV shows and handsome actors. My mom will dearly miss those conversations.

I’m grateful Lin received so many visitors in her last days and knew how deeply she was loved. I will never forget her spirit and warmth, and her true friendship always. My condolences to her family and friends.

Lin and I became close friends when.Carol left for college. She loved to have fun but she had a serious side as well. I loved her humor and quick wit. She had such compassion and was always thinking of others. I always thought she would be the one to take care of us when we needed care. I will miss her but she is finally out of pain and at peace.

I am so grateful for Lin's friendship over the years.  ...so many memories.  These last few years were so tough.  I had the great fortune to know Lin in good times and challenging times.  She was fun, smart, loving, generous and energetic.  At the end, I witnessed her grace as she faced this last challenge.   I choose to picture her playing beach volleyball, followed by a sunset sail in the Gulf of Mexico.

Rich and I will miss our condo neighbor, Lin. She fought so many health battles and now her fight has ended in a victory celebration with our Lord and Savior. While she was healing from a fall, she was unable to use her arm over her head. So doing her hair became a problem. I would hear this little knock on my door and there she would be. She needed her hair put up in a pony tail. I assured her that I'd be happy to help the best I could. I am the mother of two boys and wasn't all that certain I could manage a simple pony tail. Over time, she came down and allowed me to finally get it right. Rest well, my dear Lin.

It's so hard to know what to write about my sister Lin.  I will miss all the times spent with her in Clearwater Beach and sailing with her in Florida, our semi-regular cousins reunions  in Daytona,  our trip to California. I remember sharing a cabin with her on our riverboat cruise (that Carol said always smelled of Ben-Gay), the hot-air balloon ride that landed us in the potato farmer's field, and shocking her by beating her at cards.  

I really appreciate the  extra time I got to spend with her over
 the past few years since retiring from Africa. We spent many hours together with her in the recliner and me stretched out on the couch, watching TV or movies or The Voice, critiquing the contestants outfits "Didn't they know they were going to be on TV?!"  This gave me an opportunity to get to know her better and learn about how high school and college were for her, since I was out of the house by that time.  

I trusted her to give me sensible advice when I was going to be impulsive about something, and good directions so I (mostly) wouldn't get lost. Poor Lin with her 2 directionally-challenged sisters!

There are so many precious memories of growing up together and more recently as she would throw things at me as we assembled health-care kits, or playing fill in the blanks with Jean. "Would you please finish that sentence or give me a noun to work with?"

I was looking forward to growing old with her. She would be the one whose mind was still sharp and I would be doing better physically so she could order me around. I'm going to miss her quick wit and laughter. Her passing leaves a big whole in our lives, but I know she's better off away from all the pain and struggles of the past several years.

I am so sorry. I won’t be here. Lin was such a sweet and wonderful Sunday school teacher and  woman. I hope at this time your family finds peace.

My sister, Lin was my best friend in life. We shared so many wonderful times, usually filled with laughter. She was my go-to chauffeur, cooking consultant, party planner and concert, movie and beach buddy. Any time there was a pool nearby, you would find Lin and me there with our trusty pool noodles. We watched countless movies over the years and were constantly quoting our favorite lines. We used to say that we had no original dialogue. 🙂 Lin was funny and feisty and a loyal and loving friend, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and godmother. She has left a huge hole in so many lives but we are relieved that she is finally painfree and has found peace.

Never will forget our hallway parties and how generous you always were. Your kindness, generosity and gentle spirit will be missed by all.  Rest in peace Lin.

I  worked Unit 38  with you at GBMC. Your smile lit up our unit.  I loved our talks…you made our long shifts so much better with your kindness.

I've known "Lyn" for many years working with her at GBMC. Always a gentle and kind soul. When I would bump into her over the years in the hallways at work she would always be smiling. God graced us with your presence, Lyn. You are a beautiful woman. We need more people like you.

So many memories over the years. Our years at Christ Church, our return to Emmanuel, our countless events, including The Food Pantry Spring Fairs where Lin immediately volunteered for face painting. She was always the first to contribute snacks, drinks and prizes so the fair could be totally free to the community..
Her heart overflowed with kindness. 
Our fun weekends at the beach will always be cherished memories.  I will truly miss my “baby sister,” but I know she’s  pain free, and sitting in awe with our Lord and Savior.
