

On February 26, 2014, Louis John Meyers, Sr. beloved husband of Peggy Meyers; devoted father of Louis John Meyers, Jr., Evelyn Marie Mattheu and Leah Sue Hargest; loving grandfather of Taylor Marie Hargest, Daniel and Rachel Meyers, Josh and Kelly Mattheu, Kacey and Justin Hargest.
After getting out of the Navy in 1961, Lou began his musical career at the Homeland House on York Road with a group called The Rockin Unknowns. He then went on to the Night Owl and began a group called the Progressions. After several successful years, he moved to the Ravens Nest on Loch Raven Blvd. for a short time and then began playing at Captain Harveys and the Impala Lounge in Holland Town.
From there, the group moved to the Hitching Post located on Baltimore Street and changed their name to the MoJo's for a long successful period of almost 10 years, where they drew a full house every weekend. On to The Lighthouse on Eastern Avenue for another long successful period and once again packing the house every weekend.
The MoJo's continued their success at the Chesaco Inn in Rosedale for a couple of years until the group dissolved.
Lou then became a successful DJ and then a KJ at the Chesaco Inn and other bars and VFW halls in the area.
Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Rd., Bel Air MD 21014, on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m., and where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Interment private.
