DEAR RACHEL,IKE JR. MICHAEL GEORGE II AND FAMILY. LAST YEAR ON 6-13-2016 WNEN YOUR MOM JOINED YOUR FATHER IKE SR, WE WERE SAILING IN JAPAN.YOUR MOM EMAILED US OFTEN UNTIL MY EMAIL WAS HACKED.WE ALSO LOST TRACK WHEN YOU MOVED TO FLORIDA.WE MISS THEM OUR TRUE FRIENDS OF MANY YEARS.

Tita Lydia and the Garrido Family were very special friends to us while living in Caracas, Venezuela in the 70s.  I was a teenager then and I have vivid memories of riding in their cool cars, specifically the Camaro and the Caprice. My mom, Ching Manalo, continued the friendship beyond Venezuela and spent some time with Tita Lydia while we were living in Paramus, NJ.  I remember Tita Lydia driving all the way from Maryland to meet up with my mom.

Tita Lydia was a very kind and thoughtful person.  When my boys were young, she was like a second Grandma to them.  She would always bring them toys and gifts.  She even stood in as grandparent at my oldest son's preschool when his own grandma was out of the country.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Rachel and family.

There were many fond memories of Lydia and Enrique and their children. We use to visit them in their home in the Philippines when we were younger as well.

We are so very sorry to hear of Mrs. Garrido's passing.  She was a lovely and lively lady - and we enjoyed hearing of her many adventures with Lola Zeny. Tita Lydia was always a happy women full of energy.  She was a loving wife and cherished her children greatly.  Prayers to the family for the lost of this wonderful woman.

In the passing of Lydia, we have lost a great and good friend whose friendship had meant so much to us.  We had the good fortune of meeting Lydia over 50 years ago in the Philippines where her husband Ike,Sr. was a colleague of ours. Lydia and Ike, Sr. became our very good personal friends (Ike was sponsor to our wedding) and Lydia's passing grieves us inexpressibly. We will terribly miss her letters and regular phone calls.  May the Almighty God grant her eternal rest.  To Ike, Jr., Mike, Rachelle and the other members of Lydia's family, we extend to you our heartfelt sympathy.
