Nicholas R. Wingrove Jr., affectionately known as “Nick” passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024. He was the beloved husband and partner of Joan Lee Wingrove (nee DiBenedetto) for 52 years; devoted father of Tammie Wingrove (Charlie) McGroarty and Samantha (Tim) Goldkamp; cherished Popsicle of Maggie Mae, Clare Kathleen, Luke Nicholas, and Piper Rose; loving son of the late Nicholas and Marie Wingrove (nee Wolf); dear brother of Darlene (Richard) Imbach, Monica (James) Bloodsworth, Helen (Brian) Morgan, and Cecilia (Bobby) Gayhardt. In addition, Nick is an honorary Popsicle to Amanda Gonzaga and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and too many friends to count.
Nick was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He loved his work in construction and would often tell friends and family memorable stories about the many antics they got into on job sites. Nick’s number one driving force in his life was his family. He loved them beyond measure and the highlight of his days was spending time with his grandchildren. He could always be found outside in his American flag hat keeping busy cutting the grass, steaming crabs, or roasting a pig.
