

Mrs. Morrison was born in Baltimore, Maryland on Aug. 17th, 1946, daughter of the late James F. and Ruth A. Cernik.
She is survived by her husband Felix William Morrison. They were married for over 60 years. Together they have a wonderful family of two children (Amber Rue Morrison of Orlando, FL and CAPT Adam Bennett Morrison & his wife Cami of Odenton, MD), seven grandchildren (Ashley Porter, Kara Serbeck, Krystal Serbeck, Nicholas Serbeck & his wife Brittany, Cora Morrison, Dylan Morrison, and Clare Morrison), three great-granddaughters (Sophia Serbeck, Brooklynn Porter, and Charleigh Porter), and two great grandsons (Axel Serbeck and Colter Serbeck).
Mrs. Morrison graduated with honors in 1964 from the nation’s oldest all-girl high school, Western High School in Baltimore. She graduated in 1968 with a BA majoring in both German and Spanish, from Towson University. She graduated summa cum laude with an MLA from Johns Hopkins University in 1971. She initiated and developed the German program and also taught Spanish at Perry Hall Senior High.
For 14 years, Mrs. Morrison operated Rubicon Farm along with her husband. It was a commercial Thoroughbred breeding farm. Their biographical story was featured in “The Maryland Horse.” She developed a portion of the farm for upscale, large lot homes called “Rubicon Estates.” She also bred English Bulldogs and served as Secretary to the Chesapeake Bulldog Club. She spearheaded duties to obtain AKC recognition for the club, also serving as Specialty chairperson. She was a longtime member of the Bulldog Club of America.
For two years, she was the marketing manager of Lenox Laser. During the same time and spanning 14 years, she owned and operated Patrice’s Publications. From 2004-2008, she was the office manager for Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morrison was a Past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughter Bethel #7. Patrice also received the Order of the First Families of Maryland Society. She was a staff writer and researcher for the Bicentennial Committee, researching northern Baltimore County history. She served as 4-H leader for the Norrisville Stablemates Club. She was a member of the Maryland DNR’s Choptank Tributary Team. She was an avid reader and organizer of book clubs in North Carolina and Maryland.
Finally, she was the Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Caroline County which provided free services to the elderly, disabled, families with children or veterans faced with necessary but unaffordable home repairs or improvements. During her 10-year tenure Patrice personally raised $260,000, which funded the completion of 209 projects.
A receiving of friends will take place at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., located at 610 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, MD 21014 on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, from 11am to 12pm, with a celebration of life to begin at 12pm.
Burial will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patrice’s name to The Towson University Foundation.
